{"id":977,"date":"2011-02-05T21:42:41","date_gmt":"2011-02-06T01:42:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.braindeadprojects.com\/blog\/?p=977"},"modified":"2011-02-05T21:43:02","modified_gmt":"2011-02-06T01:43:02","slug":"rc-car-no-longer-under-your-control","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.braindeadprojects.com\/blog\/what\/rc-car-no-longer-under-your-control\/","title":{"rendered":"RC Car no longer under your control."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m in the middle of reading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0750682760?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=machinegridco-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0750682760\" target=\"_blank\">MSP430 Microcontroller Basics<\/a>, which I&#8217;d picked up for some insight into the inner workings of the MSP430 line from Texas Instruments (especially the MSP30G2231, one of the controllers included with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ti.com\/ww\/en\/mcu\/valueline\/index.shtml?DCMP=D_AEC_MSP430_MSP430_&amp;CMP=KNC-GoogleTI&amp;247SEM\" target=\"_blank\">Launchpad Emulator board<\/a>). Unfortunately this coincides with a lot of overnight work at the office, so I&#8217;m still making progress (albeit slowly) with the RC Car modification and rebuild.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_980\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-980\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.braindeadprojects.com\/blog\/wp-content\/IMAG0012.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-980\" title=\"Not the future of Police Cars\" src=\"http:\/\/www.braindeadprojects.com\/blog\/wp-content\/IMAG0012-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.braindeadprojects.com\/blog\/wp-content\/IMAG0012-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.braindeadprojects.com\/blog\/wp-content\/IMAG0012-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-980\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Patrolling a messy desk.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the past few weeks, I&#8217;ve done a bit of work\/learning with a couple of Parallax sensors\u00a0 &#8211; namely the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parallax.com\/StoreSearchResults\/tabid\/768\/txtSearch\/pIr\/List\/0\/SortField\/4\/ProductID\/83\/Default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">PIR<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parallax.com\/tabid\/768\/ProductID\/92\/Default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">PING<\/a>. I&#8217;ve ripped out the stock board and replaced it with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sparkfun.com\/products\/315\" target=\"_blank\">SN754410E Quad half H-bridge<\/a>, and began cleaning up some of the poor solder joints.
